The day after Christmas is always a big day for retailers, some say the second busiest of the year.
That was the scene at stores across the metro today.
At Penn Square J.C. Penney's store, the doors opened at six this morning to accommodate all those wanting to return or exchange gifts and for those just looking for some after-Christmas bargains.
The store manager Joe Waslo said December 26th is a day they no longer dread, because it's not all about returns anymore.
"People do a really good job of picking the right items and selections, and returns are not like they used to be in the past, even with gift cards now, customers will give those and people will come in and try to spend them and use them," Waslo said.
Retailers say the use of gift cards has steadily risen over the past five to ten years.
