A last minute trip to Penn Square Mall on Christmas Eve becomes a robbery scene soaked in blood.
"We see this lady yelling and we rushed over to her," said Corey Civils, witness to the crime scene.
"She was bleeding extremely bad. There was a puddle of blood all around her," added Corey's brother Dustin, 17.
Dustin and Corey Civils left their home ready to join hundreds of others who waited until the last minute to finish their Christmas shopping. The two youngsters didn't expect to be a part of a crime scene when they arrived.
The two had just parked when they noticed a car swerving back and forth.
"[It] almost hit me and my brother," said Dustin, 17.
Oklahoma City Police said the woman was walking in the parking lot, near Dillard's entrance, when suddenly she was attacked from behind. A white male in a Jeep Cherokee leaned out and grabbed the woman's purse, dragging her for a short distance until she could loosen herself from her purse.
The 20-year-old Corey ran after the Jeep, trying to get a license plate number; while his 17-year-old brother stayed with the woman until help arrived.
Police are still looking for the suspect. If you have any information about this crime you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
