Amanda Taylor joined the NEWS 9 team in September 2006. She co-anchors NEWS 9 at 5 every weekday and heads up NEWS 9's Consumer Watch Team.

An Emmy-award winning reporter and anchor, Amanda has battled 100 mile-per-hour winds in Hurricane Rita and reported on the tragic crash of the Shuttle Columbia in Texas. Most recently though, Amanda has become known as Oklahoma's Consumer Watch reporter who gets results. Her caring, fair and persistent nature is what has made her such a respected and esteemed journalist.

Amanda comes to NEWS 9 from KENS in San Antonio, Texas where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor. She also reported and anchored at KAUZ in Wichita Falls, Texas, and WUFT in Gainesville, Fla.

Amanda is a University of Florida graduate from Gainesville. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in telecommunication news. Some of her many accomplishments include, The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasting consumer award in 2007; The Better Business Bureau's torch award in 2007; The Lone Star Emmy award in 2004; team coverage report, SPJ Mark of Excellence in 2001; National Hearst Broadcasting Competition in 2000; AP Florida 2000 and The Mark of Excellence Award in 2000.

In Amanda's spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband Nick and their two Wheaten Terriers,  William and Sonoma.  As you can probably guess, she also enjoys gourmet cooking!  She also plays classical piano and collects miniature shoes.
