The Oklahoma City Thunder announced a pair of roster additions on Wednesday, signing forward Brooks Barnhizer to a Two-Way Contract and inking forward/center Thomas Sorber to a multi-year deal. Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti confirmed both signings. Per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Barnhizer, a standout from Northwestern, brings versatility and production on both ends of the floor. In 17 games during the 2024-25 season, the Indiana native averaged 17.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 36.9 minutes. He became the first Big Ten player since Michael Redd to surpass 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 200 assists within his first 96 career games. Barnhizer also earned Big Ten All-Defensive Team honors and was a multi-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Sorber joins the Thunder after a strong freshman campaign at Georgetown. The New Jersey native appeared in 24 games for the Hoyas, averaging 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals in 31.3 minutes per game. He ranked second on the team in scoring and was one of the nation’s top rebounders among freshmen. Sorber was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team and earned All-Big East Third Team recognition in 2024-25.
The additions of Barnhizer and Sorber continue Oklahoma City's commitment to developing young, high-IQ players with two-way potential as the franchise builds toward another competitive season.
