Residents in Tonkawa can now safely use tap water after several water line breaks across the city were repaired, city leaders say.

Officials say they were forced to issue a boil water order while they worked to repair several water line breaks after below-freezing temperatures caused damage to the city’s system.

Crews say repairs are still being made to parts of the system, and some people may still not have water.

The city has said it will stay in a state of emergency until the entire system is fixed.
