Glenpool city manager David Tillotson said city councilors are working on the city's first strategic plan.
They have selected five priorities to determine the areas of focus.
They include economic health, transportation, infrastructure improvements, housing, and culture and entertainment.
City leaders want to use this plan to help create more jobs in the community, improve waste and stormwater issues, and offer housing for both potential homeowners and renters.
They also said they wanted to make Glenpool a community where people want to live and thrive.
“There are niches you can look at to say, 'How can I do we do this in a way where I’m not competing with the BOK?' or 'I’m not competing with what Broken Arrow is doing with notes live' or 'I’m not competing with Jenks aquarium' but I’m doing things that makes sense for Glenpool that Glenpool individuals residents businesses want and can use,” Tillotson said.
The council's next step is to determine the action plans for all five strategic priorities.
The goal is to have everything approved by November and have the strategic plan released to the public in early 2025.
