Oral Roberts University unveiled the Peggy Helmerich Media Arts Center on campus in what marks the completion of one phase of rebuilding the campus.
Gov. Kevin Stitt toured the 77,000-square-foot building Friday morning, filled with space for instruction and performance in theatrical arts and new media.
“These new buildings are helping us attract students from all over the world,” said Dr. William Wilson, President of ORU. “We want our students to go to Broadway, but we also want them to write Broadway shows that communicate the values of God to the world and change lives,” he said.
The new Media Arts Center is adjacent to a new library and matches the future architectural style of the campus.
President Wilson said the next phase would include a new dining hall and dorm complex.
Wilson said the fall term was the 16th year of enrollment growth for the university, with 5,936 students enrolled in on-campus classes.
