A Sapulpa business wanted to mark Wednesday's anniversary of 9/11 so they offered a free meal to first responders.
The business says this is a way to say thank you for the sacrifice all first responders make.
September 11th, 2001 is a day Americans will never forget, and that includes Mark Campbell at Pride Electric in Sapulpa.
“We don't ever want to forget about that day, it means a lot to these guys I feel and it's just a simple gesture for us to come in here and give them lunch, feed them and talk about it,” he said.
He says it's a small way to let the 40 police and firefighters who stopped by, know they are appreciated.
Major Josh Briscoe with Sapulpa Fire says he will always remember the men and women who sacrificed everything on that day.
“Losing 343 firemen and being in this occupation, it's kind of somber, its an important day that none of us will ever forget it,” he said.
Briscoe says he's lucky to live in a community that has people who care about the men and women who serve and protect others.
“It shows a lot about Pride's character, just who they are as people, that they care about not just their community, but their first responders, police, fire, EMS,” he said.
Campbell grew up with a lot of these guys, and he wants them to know the community has their back.
“This is kind of what we do, we love to do it, all my guys are prideful to do it,” he said.
