The Tulsa Drillers wrapped up their season over the weekend with a 36-32 record.

It was a big season for head coach Scott Hennessey. Last summer, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma and had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

In December 2023, Hennessey was declared cancer-free.

He said that even though the team's record is not how they wanted to finish, he is still proud to say some players made it to the big leagues during the season.

"The thing I like about this team is it was a good work group, they worked hard every day," Hennessey said. "They stayed after it, and they didn't give up. We just came up short this year, and that's just the way it is."

He also said that he is appreciative of the fans in Tulsa for always showing their support.

"Our fans are the most knowledgeable in the league, and they stuck with us all year," Hennessey said. "I thank them and just thanks for coming out."

21,561 fans came out to the last series, which was the best-attended three-day stretch since the 2021 season.
