A man and a teenager are behind bars after leading Oklahoma City Police on a chase in northwest Oklahoma City overnight, police say.

The duo is accused of stealing a car and eventually crashing into another vehicle in northwest Oklahoma City.

Thursday morning, Oklahoma City Police were led on a short foot pursuit for a person with a felony warrant.

Police began to clear the area when they got hit by a stolen vehicle. “Around Interstate 44 and Southwest 29th Street is where police spotted a stolen vehicle. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but it began fleeing from police,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, Oklahoma City Police Department.

Police say the pursuit continued Northwest 36th Street and Drexel Avenue. The driver quickly turned into the USPS.

Workers say they saw the person ram through the first fence, thinking it was going to end there, but the car went through the back fence and kept going. “A kid comes around the corner, and you hear all of these sirens, and then the next thing you know, you hear this crash,” said Shaine Lingle, who just moved to the area.

He says he saw the car hit a parked car out front. “He just took off running, left the car door open, and ran up and down,” said Lingle.

Oklahoma City Police say Eli Wintz and a 17-year-old began running through these apartments.

Police arrested both suspects around 6 a.m. Thursday. They are booked for stealing cars and eluding police.
