A metro organization, Deaconess Pregnancy and Adoption helps thousands of Oklahoma children in need of a loving family.
Executive Director Heather Hails, joined News 9 to talk about their upcoming gala.
Hails said their organization connects expecting mothers to resources, facilitates adoption for those experiencing unexpected pregnancy, and provides mental health resources to anyone in the community with ties to fostering or adoption.
"We work with a lot of women that choose to parent as well as make adoption plans and we just want to support all of them," Hails said.
She said the organization hopes to be a support system for all women, despite their circumstances.
"Our goal is just to be a really safe space for women. There's no pressure, there's no judgment, they can meet with us as often as they would like to," Hails said. "We'll help connect them to resources in their community."
They are throwing their annual fundraising gala on August 29 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
The tickets are $100 each and will feature a performance from Christian recording artist, Steven Curtis Chapman, who will also be sharing his personal connection to faith and adoption.
There is also a live auction and mystery pull bags. The event will be hosted by News 9's Amanda Taylor.
