An Edmond business that was the victim of an overnight smash-and-grab, is now looking for the person responsible for stealing their register full of cash.
Workers at Conscious Community Co-Op in Edmond arrived this morning to see their front glass door smashed, and their main cash register missing.
“I've always tried to be very mindful of my community, our mission statement is being conscious of our earth, our health and our community in all that we do,” said Jennifer Webster, owner of Conscious Community Co-Op.
Webster says she was planning to take today off, but received a phone call from her store manager this morning, notifying her of the break-in.
“I'm like what?” said Webster. “They smashed in the door to the kitchen and he said they took nothing but the money, and they literally took the register.”
“Shame on them for sure for doing that,” said Webster.
A philanthropist and giving member of the community, Webster says she’s never shied away from lending a helping hand.
“If somebody was in need I would have given. If they needed food, even money if they had just come in and asked, but now I have to fix the door,” said Webster. “There's no point in being angry, they must really be at a really pitiful point in their life to come take from conscious to come take from the community like this.”
Even with the boarded door and broken glass, Conscious Community was still open today, ready to serve whoever came through the doors.
“We're gonna fix this and we're just gonna keep doing what we do,” said Webster.
If you have any information on the break-in you can reach out to Conscious Community directly, or speak with Edmond Police.
