For President Biden, a lot was riding on Thursday's news conference, and it didn't start well. On the first question, President Biden mixed up Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
“Look, I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president if I didn't think she was qualified to be vice president," said Biden.
For the remainder of the conference, the president stayed on message defending his foreign policy, his commitment to NATO, and why he feels compelled to stay in the race and defeat Trump.
“Do you think our democracy is under siege? Based on this court? Do you think democracy is under siege based on Project 2025? Do you think he means when he says when he says he's going to do whatever civil service eliminated Department of Education? Make sure I mean, we've never been here before. And that's the other reason why I didn't you say hand off to another generation. I got to finish this job.
President Biden heads to Michigan for a campaign event Friday.
