Top-seeded Oklahoma State dropped a 4-2 contest to No. 3-seed Florida in the NCAA Stillwater Regional final Monday at O'Brate Stadium.
With the loss, the 12th-ranked Cowboys finish the season 42-19, while Florida advances to the Clemson Super Regional with a 32-28 record.
Zach Ehrhard and Aidan Meola drove in the OSU runs as the Cowboys collected six hits in the contest.
Tommy Molsky took the loss on the mound, falling to 6-3. In his second start of the season, the junior right-hander worked three innings, striking out three and allowing two runs.
Evan O'Toole, Ryan Ure and Robert Cranz pitched in relief of Molsky, combining for five innings and allowing two runs on five hits.
The Gators went on top in the third. Following a leadoff hit by pitch and a double from Jac Caglianone, Ashton Wilson hit a single to right field to put UF up, 2-0.
The Cowboys responded in the fourth as Ehrhard reached on a fielder's choice to set up Meola, who smacked an RBI double to left field. But OSU stranded two runners to keep its deficit at one.
UF answered in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single by Michael Robertson to make it 3-1.
Tyler Wulfert started the fifth with a single, followed by a walk to Lane Forsythe, and Carson Benge loaded the bases with ninfield single. Ehrhard flied out to deep left field to bring home a run, but another pair of runners were left stranded for the Cowboys.
The Gators plated the game's final run on a Tyler Shelnut home run in the sixth.
Cranz shut down the Gators after giving up the solo shot, but the Cowboys did not get a baserunner over the final three innings.
