Emergency Management Provides Update On Mayes County Storm Damage

A deadly storm swept from Claremore, through Mayes and into Pryor Saturday. Two people were killed and many were injured in the storms.

Mayes County emergency managers say damage is extensive. They estimate 50-60 homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed. 

Around 24,000 residents were without power after the storms. Providers are working to replace power lines and return power to the affected areas.

The Red Cross has set up a shelter in Pryor at the Mayes County Fairgrounds.
