The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch joined law enforcement Tuesday morning for their annual Torch Run.

The Torch Run is a two-day event that raises awareness for Special Olympics athletes.

The torch, also called the Flame of Hope, marks the beginning of the Special Olympics Summer Games.

“It's an opportunity for us to come together as law enforcement agencies across the state and really across the nation,” Brian Jennings with the Oklahoma City Police Department said. “We come together one day as one and we're going to carry the torch, we call it the Flame of Hope, and we'll take it to the summer games tomorrow and kick off with opening ceremonies.”

The group ran 12.5 miles Tuesday, from the Moore Police Department to the Capitol. Wednesday they will run to Stillwater.
