Cordell was hit by a tornado Tuesday evening, ripping roofs off of homes and spreading debris.
One neighborhood right off Main Street had many volunteers from the First Baptist church, neighbors, and kids cleaning up everything.
April Floyd, a Cordell resident, was driving home when the storm hit her house.
“I waited it out at Turner Vet, and came back up and saw all of this,” Floyd said. “When I pulled into my driveway and saw all my kids and everyone was good, I was thankful.”
Floyd’s shed was damaged and tree limbs scattered her yard, but that was the extent of Tuesday’s damage. Now, she says, it’s time to prepare for Wednesday’s severe weather.
