A new documentary is giving an in-depth look at the life of legendary Oklahoma bull rider, Lane Frost.

On Sunday, some people saw a sneak peek at the “Lane: Life, Legend, Legacy” documentary during a screening at Reba’s Place in Atoka.

Frost was a world champion bull rider from Atoka who died in 1989 when a bull broke his ribs and cut a main artery after a ride during the Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming.

He was 25 years old.

Frost became even more well-known through the movie “8 Seconds,” which is about his life.

But his mom says the movie didn’t tell the full story.

The documentary gives a deeper look at Frost's life, told by those who knew him best.

"I talked to them first and I said 'Will it tell that Lane's a Christian?' And they said 'Oh yeah, we're Christian so we want to tell that part.' And so I was confident that they were going to get the real story," said his mother Elsie Frost.

Sunday is the first time the documentary has been shown in Oklahoma.

The production company is still working out details on where and how the documentary will be seen, whether in theaters or on a streaming service.

News On 6 anchor Tess Maune was there and will share more about the documentary this week on News On 6.
