Officials At University Of Arkansas Investigate E. Coli Outbreak

A mother of a college student in Arkansas is warning people to be wary of E. Coli.

Her daughter was among the dozens who caught the virus at the University of Arkansas.

One teen underwent dialysis because the virus severely impacted her ability to pull in nutrients from food.

Dr Naveen Patil said, "They're unable to keep anything down, they might become dehydrated, and when it gets that serious, it has the potential of affecting the kidneys."

Symptoms of E. Coli infection include stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting.

In the University of Arkansas outbreak, health officials do not believe it was linked to the university's dining halls.
