A weak cold front moved in on Sunday, and will cool us off a few degrees on Monday.
Highs will be in the lower and mid-80s on Monday. The mornings look nice and cool this week, but the afternoon highs will be closer to records than normal.
Average highs this time of year are in the mid-70s. There is a slight chance for a few pop-up showers and storms Monday night, but most locations will be dry.
We do have a chance for a few showers and storms early Tuesday morning, but it won’t be widespread.
Our next strong pattern-changing cold front arrives late Sunday.

Milton is expected to bring flooding rain, extreme winds, and up to a 12-foot storm surge to the west coast of Florida.

-HYDRATION is key in preventing heat-related illness. Drink plenty of water or electrolyte replacement drinks several hours before and during long exposure to the summer heat.
Wear light-colored, loose fitting clothing and a wide-brimmed hat if working outdoors, and take plenty of shade breaks.
No alcohol or caffeine.
If you do not have air conditioning, find a cooling station or public space (such as libraries or malls) during the day.
Don’t limit your use of air conditioning.
Use the buddy system if working outdoors and check on elderly neighbors.
Keep a cellphone on you at all times when outdoors, including walking, running daily errands, yard work or sports and physical activity.
