Oklahoma City Police said they were assisting the US Marshals office on a chase that ended with the suspect dead near Northwest 48th Street and Warren Avenue. They said the woman involved had two felony warrants.

A short pursuit near Valerie Walker's home ended in a crash near Northwest 48th and Warren Avenue.

“I mean it had to be what 60, 70 I mean he was flying,” Walker said.

“At some point when she crashed into another vehicle, she produced a firearm and ultimately she was shot by one of the members of the US Marshals service,” Msgt. Gary Knight said.

Officers were seen removing a bloody dog from the car, which was riddled with gunshots. Police tell us initially the Marshals office was monitoring the woman who was shot and killed.

“She was in a vehicle, and they decided to try and stop her. They talked to some of our units from our department. Police officers attempted to stop her, she sped away initiating a pursuit,” Msgt. Knight said.

Walker said she's seen crime in her neighborhood before, but it's never gotten this close to where she lives.

“When you know the reality of what happened it's a whole other story,” Walker said.

She said she's lived in her home for more than 20 years. This doesn't scare her.

“It calls me to be more vigilant. See something, say something,” Walker said.

Police have yet to release the suspect's name or details on her warrants.
