LGBTQ+ Community, Supporters Advocate For Gender-Affirming Care At State Capitol

Members of the LGBTQ+ community and their supporters gathered at the state capitol to discuss how a ban on gender-affirming care is impacting their community.

Supporters said this type of care is necessary for the well-being of transgender and nonbinary people.

Senate Bill 613 bans anyone under 18 from getting gender affirming care. Also, any medical professional that provides such care faces a $100,000 fine, up to 10 years in prison and the revocation of their medical license.
