OKC Thunder Hosts Math Hoops Event For Metro Students

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Devon Energy teamed up to host a life-sized math hoops board game for students around the metro. 

Thunder Youth Basketball coaches played as game tokens, shooting hoops at Scissortail Park. 

The Thunder Director of Community Engagement, Erin Oldfield said, “we have kids that have joined us from across the state joining us to bring math hoops alive so they’re actually shooting the ball and interacting with one another”.

This interactive game combines NBA and WNBA player stats with math skills for the students.
