Happy Friday! It's foggy this morning! After the recent rain, visibility is limited due to thick fog. This will erode away midmorning and highs will climb into the upper 80s and 90s.
The fire danger ramps up in western Oklahoma behind the dryline. Ahead of the dryline today, severe storms are possible in far southern Oklahoma. If storms fire, they could produce large hail and damaging winds.
The weekend will be Hot! Some could see severe storms!
SATURDAY the dryline moves into central Oklahoma. Highs will climb into the 80s and 90s. There will actually be a heat index east of the dryline. It will feel a few degrees warmer than the air temp.
The severe risk increases east of the dryline as well. It is not locked in that storms develop, however we will be sitting on a powder keg. Storms will have a ton of energy to use if they fire. Large hail and damaging winds the primary concern. There will be low tornado risk.
Sunday will also be hot! This time the dryline sets up way west. This will give us a chance of isolated supercells in western Oklahoma. If these storms develop, they could also produce very large hail, damaging winds, and will have a slightly higher tornado threat.
A lot going on this weekend. Don't cancel your outdoor plans, but stay weather aware. Have the News9 app on your phone for alerts!
