The Shawnee VA outpatient clinic is temporarily closed due to damage caused by a tornado on April 19.

However, a mobile command center has been set up in the parking lot on Kickapoo Street.

The Red Cross is also helping assist with supplies, and veterans can pick up things like food, water, blankets and more.

VA officials in Shawnee told News 9 that they notified all veterans in the area that help is still available.

Nurses are on location to help with minor medical needs, and mental health counseling is also available.

The mobile command center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and no appointment is needed.
