Major General Stanley Newman is credited with shooting down the last German airplane of WWII.

Newman also flew in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Newman is in both the Air and Space and Oklahoma Military Halls of Fame, and his biography is on display at the Oklahoma Science Musuem.
