Two people were killed after their vehicle was run over by a semi.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol four additional semi-trucks and a pickup were involved in the massive collision on I-35, just south of Wynnewood.

Jim Gardner in Bob Mills SkyNews 9 was over the violent scene.

“We counted a total of five semis involved and two passenger cars,” said Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Foster.

A vehicle carrying two people killed in the crash was left unrecognizable.

“It breaks our heart to see something like this, that’s why those signs are there,” said Foster.

According to troopers the vehicle was northbound along a stretch of I-35 that was under construction.

“There’s plenty of signage coming up,” said Foster.

The victim’s vehicle was crushed by a semi.

“It appears as if traffic was completely stopped or slowing moving when a semi came up on that slowed traffic and struck the passenger car, going over that car, on top of it, into another semi,” said Foster.

The shell of the vehicle was ripped away, the cab of the semi was crushed, and the trailers of other trucks were ripped open.

“Other semis were behind that trying to get stopped from that collision and out of the way,” said Foster.

The semi in question was hauling several tons of brick.

With traffic shutdown for several hours, wreckers and troopers scrambled to get traffic flowing again.

“They’re trying to get twelve feet of space open, so that vehicles can start moving again,” said Foster.

OHP investigators said they’re now working to determine exactly what happened.

“We won’t spare any man hours investigating this, making sure that we get the answers that are required,” said Foster.

Troopers have identified the driver of the semi as Tony Chinedumn.

Northbound I-35 near Davis was reopened around 9:00 pm Wednesday night, after being closed for 8.5 hours.
