All Calvin Police Officers Resign, Hughes County Sheriff's Office Takes Over Duties

The only two officers serving in the Calvin Police Department resigned in a city council meeting this week, citing a hostile work environment.

Calvin Police Chief Erica Holter and another officer were the only officers working for the department.

The town attorney said the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office will continue to patrol in that area while they work to make new hires for the department.

Chief Holter took over the role leading the department after the previous chief, Joe Chitwood, was arrested last year for meth distribution.
