State Lawmakers Consider Bill Banning Lessons On Sexual Orientation In Kindergarten Through 5th Grade Classrooms

Oklahoma lawmakers are considering a bill that would ban lessons on sexual orientation or gender identity for kindergarten through 5th grade classrooms.

HB 2546, written by Rep. Terry O’Donnell, also gives parents the option for students in older grades to be opted out of sex education courses.

Rep. O’Donnell said the topics are best addressed between the parent and the student.

The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration.
