A cold front is blowing in this morning. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s this afternoon. Scattered showers and storms in the southeast later today.
Tonight look for lows in the 30s and 40s. Tomorrow our next upper level storm arrives. This will spark storms around midday down south along a warm front.
The highest instability and strongest storms will be along and south of that warm front. In this zone all modes of severe weather will be possible. In the Oklahoma City metro we look to have a north wind all afternoon.
This will limit the severe risk significantly. Storms in the metro could still produce winds to 60 mph and hail up to quarters, but the tornado risk should be farther south. Rounds of heavy rain and storms will be possible. We may end up with flooding in a few areas to the southeast.
As the upper-level wave rushes by to the east cold air will wrap around the low, and rain will change to snow.
Winds will also ramp up Friday morning. A burst of heavy wet blowing snow possible. May lead to some slushy roadways for the Friday am commute. Temps warm quickly Friday and the snow will melt.
