An armed robbery suspect was arrested after a standoff Saturday at a southwest Oklahoma City hotel, police said.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, the robbery happened near the Interstate 35 service road and Southwest 29th Street.

Police said the suspect allegedly got into a vehicle and stole $300.

When police arrived at the scene, a man, Tyler Taylor, had barricaded himself inside a room at the Plaza Inn.

Police said they evacuated a nearby room, so officers could open all of the rooms surrounding Taylor's room.

Once the Tact team commander arrived with robbery detectives, they made a decision to leave the area and write a report.

When security arrived on scene with hotel management, they told everyone inside of the suspect's room they needed to leave.

Eventually, everyone left the room, and Taylor was taken into custody.

Taylor was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on the complaint of second-degree robbery, according to police.
