Freezing temperatures could have an effect on landscaping if plant owners do not prepare.

Experts from Oklahoma State University are revealing tips on how you can keep your plants alive and well .

Some of the tips include watering your plants and storing them inside for protection, wrapping a blanket or fleece around pots and adding soil to your garden.

“Drain your hoses, because if they get drained or unplugged from the wall, you do not have to worry about a plumbing issue" OSU horticulture educator Julia Laughlin said. "If you drain your hoses, they don’t crack and may last a lot longer."

Laughlin said to watch out for your tree limbs, especially during the icy weather.
