Driver Charged After Leading Officers On Pursuit That Ended In SE OKC Crash

A man has been charged after leading officers on a pursuit that ended in a crash earlier this month in southeast Oklahoma City.

Daniel Woods was charged on multiple accounts: assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, endangering others while eluding a police officer, driving under the influence of alcohol, larceny of merchandise from retailer, and reckless driving.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 was over the scene of the crash, which happened on Jan. 13 near Eastern Avenue between Southeast 59th Street and Interstate 240.

Why was the suspect running from police?

The driver was suspected of shoplifting at an OnCue at Northwest 10th Street and Portland Avenue in Oklahoma City, where he allegedly attempted to hit a police officer with his car.
