Sometimes it’s just not a person’s day.

The driver of that SUV in northwest Oklahoma City had better days herself.

The ambulance was there and there was plenty of help to her aid, but she couldn’t get out herself.

“Lost control of her vehicle and jumped into a ravine,” Maj. Dane Yaw with the Oklahoma City Fire Department said.

The driver’s car was suspended about 20 feet in the air. Firefighters had to use ladders to get down underneath to stabilize the car. Firefighters had quite the challenge.

“The rear end was only being held up by the chain-linked fence,” Yaw said.

This is what they train for countless hours - to perform when a life depends on them.

“We do regular training for that,” Yaw said. “We train with our special operation station which is Rescue Six.”

Misfortune turned into a memorable picture because the driver walked away.

“Thankfully she was uninjured,” Yaw said.

The driver’s car will need some work.

“It worked out good,” the tow truck driver said.
