Edmond Police say phone scams are on the rise so the department is sharing some ways to recognize and avoid scammers.

According to police, if an offer sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

Police say scammers will also call asking for personal information or money and might threaten those who don't give it to them.

Police say the best thing to do in those situations, is to hang up and block the caller.

Police also advise making sure to not click on any links or share any personal information.
