United States Postal workers are hard at work this week. Saturday is the last day to send things like greeting cards and first-class packages to make sure folks get their gifts before Christmas.
“The mail never stops. The mail runs 24/7,” Sean Walton with U.S. Postal Service said.
Postal services work countless hours to bring Christmas to someone's doorstep.
“We're very dedicated. We put our whole hearts into delivering the mail and we know that this time of the year in particular, it's just so important to so many people,” Walton said.
They're making Christmas merry for so many Oklahomans like Dawn Williams, an avid online shopper.
“All of my Christmas shopping has been done online. My kids live out of state, so I have to send stuff to them too... everything's been done online,” Williams
Williams said online shopping is just easier. She believes she's made around 20-30 orders. She said she wanted to do something special to thank the folks delivering her packages. She put together a bucket full of snacks for them to choose.
“They're not greedy. They've been very considerate leaving stuff for the other people,” Williams said.
She's said the bucket isn't just for postal workers but any service worker.
“I think it's so important because you don't know what nobody is going through and even just coming up and getting a candy bar can make somebody's day,” Williams said.
Williams said it's not too late for others to jump on board and pay it forward. She encourages others to tip delivery drivers.
