OG&E Crews Deploy As Florida Prepares For Hurricane Ian

OG&E crews will be deploying from Oklahoma to Florida on Monday to assist with the preparations for Hurricane Ian.

Hurricane Ian is now making its way toward Florida where people are stocking up on water, lining up for gas and filling up sandbags.

On Monday, Ian was upgraded to a hurricane and the National Hurricane Center says it could strengthen into a major hurricane by the middle of the week.

OG&E crews will deploy from Oklahoma to Florida on Monday to assist with the preparations.

OG&E will send a team of 90 line restoration personnel to help restore power as the storm strengthens and nears landfall.

A fleet of trucks, the crew and support personnel will leave Shawnee on Monday morning around 6 a.m. The crews will stay in Jackson overnight, then continue to Tampa, Florida on Tuesday where they will stay for about 2 weeks.
