A construction project to revamp the intersection of 11th and Lewis is proving to be a headache for drivers and businesses. It's been underway for about a year and doesn't have a completion date yet.

"You know how people avoid construction zones and stuff like the flu, that's just human nature in my opinion like I try," says Eiona Stevens.

She works at Mythic City, a gift shop caught right in the middle of the construction project at 11th and Lewis. She's happy to see improvement but says the roadwork is confusing for people trying to reach the store.

"The parking here if you don't make the correct turn or you don't come up on the correct street you miss our parking and such," says Stevens.

She says she can't wait for the intersection to be done. It will have new streetlights, route 66 signage, and dozens of trees. But until that happens, the city is encouraging drivers to slow down, watch for construction crews, and be extra cautious around business entrances.

The Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation which is funding the project hopes to have it complete by the end of the year.
