The federal government is asking the state to return more than $650,000 after a federal audit found "questionable spending" of some COVID-19 funding.

Auditors are asking the state to provide a review of more than $5 million in Governor Kevin Stitt's "Bridge the Gap Digital Wallet" program spending.

They also want to know more about the state's grant award and monitoring practices.

A spokesperson for the governor told the news outlet Oklahoma Watch that he called for an audit months ago.
