Investigators Identify Victims In 4 Separate OKC Homicides

OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma City Police Department released its initial findings on four separate homicide investigations over the weekend.

In the first investigation, police were called to an events center's parking lot around 1:30 a.m. Saturday near Northeast 36th Street and North Prospect Avenue where multiple people were shot.

Investigators said Cha'Rayia Johnson, 20, was shot and transported to a local hospital where she later died. Charcarzae Hishaw, 23, was taken by private vehicle with a non-life threatening injury. At this time, no arrests have been made in this case.

The second homicide involved a welfare check Saturday night.

Police said they were called to a home around 9 p.m. near Northeast 10th Street and North Bryant Avenue. When officers arrived, they found 88-year-old Velma Walker dead of a gunshot wound on the home's front porch. Police do not yet have any suspect description available in this case.

Authorities were called to a third homicide just before 7 p.m. Sunday at a home near Northeast 50th Street and North Prospect Avenue.

Officers said an altercation happened between two unknown persons and the victim at the home.

The victim, identified as a 17-year-old male, was taken to a hospital where he later died. No arrests have been made in the shooting.

The final weekend homicide investigation began around 9:45 p.m. Sunday. Oklahoma City police said they noticed someone driving erratically near Northwest 36th Street and North Grand Boulevard.

Officers pulled the driver over at a gas station near Northwest 36th Street and North May Avenue where the driver told police he was involved in a shooting.

The driver, identified as 41-year-old Shawn Tackitt, also told police the shooting victim was dropped off at a metro hospital.

Authorities discovered the shooting victim, identified as 42-year-old Erin Fowler, dead at the hospital.

Tackitt was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a first-degree murder complaint.
