Police are looking for vandals responsible for the destruction of headstones at a northwest Oklahoma City cemetery.

The suspects posted their actions on social media. Oklahoma City police have the video.

Officials said Tuesday that the accused vandals have been identified, but no arrests have been made.

The Frisco Cemetery near West Britton Road and Frisco Road has a long history.

“Well, my great-grandfather started it,” cemetery owner Jean Kyle said. “First one way back there.”

Kyle, 84, was upset someone disturbed their piece of land.

“Well, it wrecks me sad,” Kyle said.

Kyle lives next to the cemetery but had no idea vandals snuck in early Monday morning and damaged headstones.

In the Snapchat video, the suspects could be seen kicking a cross headstone and laughing. When the headstone did not fall over, another suspect kicked it down.

They knocked over two headstones and left remnants of a party. They also left behind video evidence for someone to save and send to police.

“I can’t believe someone would do it, you know?” Kyle said. “But maybe it’s sometimes kids. They don’t think anything.”

Kyle said the headstones might not have meant anything to the vandals but said each one tells a story. She said the cross was a man who died in a car crash, and she will never forget his family the day they buried their loved one.

“They didn’t have a lot of money, and I was there when she put that up,” Kyle said. “They made it themselves.”

The property owners said they will try to contact family members of those buried and have the headstones either fixed or replaced.
