Republican Rep. Anthony Moore from Clinton has been the target of attacks from other Republicans this campaign season.

These include the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.

According to new court filings, Moore’s wife Rachel says four leaders of the group have been harassing her and sending threatening text messages for weeks.

According to the court filing, “The content and nature of these messages was concerning and unsettling but once I learned of the source, I felt threatened and it was clear the messages were meant to intimidate and harass me and my family.”

Protective orders were granted against OCPA President Jonathan Small, VP Dave Bond, Ray Carter and Hallie Milner, as well as Mattison Miles who is not with OCPA.

An OCPA spokesman said in a statement, “To the best of our knowledge, no OCPA staff member has ever communicated with, or attempted to communicate with, Rep. Moore’s spouse, in any way, at any time. While some staff members may, in their personal time get involved in campaigns, none of that activity is done on behalf of OCPA.”

“The tone of the messages were inflammatory. They were designed to destabilize my campaign, to destabilize my marriage, destabilize my resolve to continue. I’ll be honest, there was a point on Wednesday night where I was done. My wife was in a ball in tears and, it’s not worth it. My wife means everything to me. She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” said Rep. Anthony Moore.

Moore said he isn't releasing the messages because they're false and incendiary.

OCPA calls the court filings a smear campaign.
