School is out, graduations have wrapped up, but for a group of Moore students, they still had a prom to plan.

“Everyone deserves to have fun, and everyone deserves to get what they need, plus more,” said Satorie Loper one of the planners for the prom.

The prom was planned by four teenage girls for residents at the Tuttle Care Center.

“We figured out what we thought they’d like, and the theme that we thought would go well, and then we just did it based on that,” said Loper.

The young women, Satorie Loper, Trinity Jette, Berkley Loper and Hala Al Adhami have been planning the prom for about a month. They hope it creates a memory for the residents of the care center.

“We had a local florist donating the boutonnieres and the corsages we had local companies donating the food,” said Loper.

“They got to pick out their own dresses and get their hair done and make up,” said Jana Ratzlaff, administrator at The Tuttle Care Center.

“We have multiple families, you know spouses have dressed up to come out and share this time with their loved ones and it’s been really fun,” said Ratzlaff.

When the families of the residents heard about the big day, they wanted to join in on the fun.

“As they get older, they do less and less, so allowing them to have a prom and be like teenagers again, makes it to where they can have fun again,” said Loper.

Fun is a great way to describe the day for the residents and the staff. They even crowned a prom king and queen, making the event even more special.

“It made me feel like we made their day,” said Loper.

The girls were excited to see their plans come to fruition. Now they’re working on celebrating proms at other senior care facilities around the state.
