Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the National Road Safety Foundation are asking Americans to speak up if they are in a car that's being driven recklessly.

The NRSF reports more than 60 percent of the people killed in crashes are not the driver but passengers. So that's why people are being urged to say something if a driver is doing something they shouldn't like texting while driving or being too aggressive.

"Don't be afraid to be a backseat driver because speaking up can save lives. It can save the lives of loved ones and it can save your own life," said Dave Reich with NRSF

In 2020, nearly 31,000 people lost their lives on America's roads.
