Oklahoma City police are looking for a male suspect involved in an armed carjacking of an Amazon delivery truck in Northeast Oklahoma City.

The truck driver involved called police around 10 p.m. on Wednesday. An individual armed with a pistol entered the truck while it was stopped in the 2400 block of NE 25th St., near I-35.

The driver told police the suspect forced him out and took his phone, according to a police report.

“The driver who was forced out of the vehicle had to walk to a nearby convenience store” to call 911, said MSgt. Gary Knight.

Officers found the van less than a mile from where it was stolen, near NE 27th and Fonshill Ave. The department does not have information on packages that may have been stolen from the truck, Knight said.

Police are looking for the male suspect, who the victim described as a Black male possibly in his 30s. The suspect was last seen wearing “what seemed to be a black leather jacket with possibly a hoodie underneath and possibly had dark pants on,” according to the police report.

Anyone with information is asked to contact OKC Crimestoppers at 405-235-7300.
