Suspect Arrested After Leading Tulsa Police In Chase

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police said a man is in custody after leading police on a chase and hiding in an apartment building near West 12th and Houston Ave.

According to reports from TPD, the chase began in Western Tulsa and traveled down Highway 75 on the west leg of the IDL.

On January 20 at 1:53 p.m., officers went to 2500 W. Easton Pl. to serve felony warrants on Nicholas High.

High was wanted for Felony domestic and escape.

Officers had knowledge that High ran from officers twice in the previous weeks.

Officers were on scene when High returned to his residence in a black SUV.

Officers attempted a traffic stop when the suspect accelerated.

A pursuit ensued in portions of north Tulsa and Hwy 75 in South Tulsa.

The suspect blew a tire early in the pursuit, which slowed his speed drastically. Eventually he left the car and ran near fire station #4 at 12th and Guthrie.

The suspect fled on foot with fire marshals chasing him.

High then ran to an apartment at 1216 S. Houston Ave. The NewsOn6 helicopter confirmed with officers on the ground, that the suspect entered the apartment but did not exit.

K9 announcements were made into the residence and eventually the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Nicholas High will be booked at D.L. Moss for possession of a firearm, knowingly concealing stolen property, grand larceny, first-degree burglary, felony eluding, resisting arrest, and his felony domestic warrants.
