A metro woman makes a chilling 911 call for help seconds after hearing a man break into her home. The Village Police said the suspect then tried to sexually assault her.
The victim attempted to use her cellphone to call for help, when it was taken by the burglary suspect she was able to successfully call from her landline.
According to an affidavit, the victim was inside her home, in bed, when she heard one of her windows shatter.
"She chose to be quiet and continue to lie bed hoping the defendant would leave."
Police later identified the intruder as Chalo Walker.
According to a court filing, after attempting to rape her, the victim told them Walker began rummaging through her house. Using her landline, she called for help and police officers arrived minutes later busting through the front door.
Officers scanned the home, and quickly took Walker down at gunpoint and placed him under arrest.
Police said they recognized Walker from a stop earlier in the night when he was accused of panhandling at a gas station and making inappropriate comments to women.
He's in jail on several complaints including rape and burglary.
