Some mental health professionals have said this latest surge in COVID is causing added stress for some Oklahomans.

The Kaiser Family Foundation said more than 37-percent of adults in Oklahoma said they have symptoms of anxiety or depression, compared to 11-percent before the pandemic.

"What this pandemic has done is taken a magnifying glass to those who have vulnerabilities," said Larry Phillips, SSM Health Behavioral Health. "If we are prone to depression, this has made things worse for us."

The Kaiser Foundation said it's also seeing more reports of poor mental health in teenagers.
