Stillwater Public Schools Cancels Classes For Jan. 14 Due To Staff Shortages

Stillwater Public Schools said they will cancel all classes at all campuses for Friday, Jan. 14.

According to district interim superintendent Dr. Gay Washington, nearly 15 percent of the district's teachers (63 out of 425 or 14.8 percent) are absent from school Thursday.

Some extracurricular activities have already been subject to adjustments while others will continue as intended. Thursday's district job fair and athletic events will go on as scheduled.

An academic bowl tournament, set to take place at Stillwater High School, was forfeited by two teams due to COVID-19 cases. OSSAA will make the final determination with the next step for this event. The ninth grade drama performance will be rescheduled to a later date.
