A Chandler family is at home recovering after they were involved in a rollover crash.

The single-car accident happened last Wednesday on the Turner Turnpike near northeast OKC.

Shirley Atnip remembers driving down the turnpike with her daughter, Aspen, and her husband, Cory.

"My husband swerved to miss something on the road, and we heard a loud pop in the back of the car," said Shirley Atnip. "Then, the next thing I know, we were rolling."

Shirley Atnip thinks she flew about 50 feet out of the skylight as the car rolled.

"And I remember laying there and then remembering that my daughter was in the car," said Shirley Atnip.

Her 5-year-old daughter was still in the car that was laying upside down.

Thankfully, she was properly strapped in with a car seat that might have saved her life.

Cory Atnip was also ejected.

"The first thing I remember, I woke up in the fence line," said Cory Atnip.

He had been ejected even farther and had a large cut on his head.

Eventually, Cory Atnip had to be airlifted to OU Health.

Shirley and Aspen were loaded into an ambulance.

"I ended up with a broken clavicle, bruised ribs and messed up my left knee," said Shirley Atnip.

Troopers said he two weren't wearing their seatbelts.

Shirley told News 9 her belt was down around her waist as she looked for something in her purse.

She said her car also had a recall.

"There was a recall for the toe links on the rear axle," said Shirley Atnip. "I believe that’s the pop that we heard."

She said they've been trying to get her car fixed for several months and were told it was fine to drive.

Troopers gave Cory Atnip a ticket for speeding that they plan to contest.

"We're grateful for every minute that you know we get to breathe," said Shirley Atnip.

Even with mounting medical bills and unable to work, the whole family is just happy to be home.

"It's really amazing really none of us should be alive," said Cory Atnip. "The fact that all three of us made it out with fairly minor injuries, something special."

The family has set up a GoFundMe for anyone who wants to help.
